Meguiars Versa-Angle Body Brush

Meguiars Versa-Angle Body Brush
Why does my hair lie flat in one direction and flick away from my head in the other?
Basically, I wear my hair to the left, in that direction it lies completely flat, which, for the hairstyle I want isn't good, as I want it to spike at angles from my head.
If I put my hair to the right, however, it spikes itself automatically, and completely flicks away...
Do I just need to cut it to the other side or is it something like the way it grows?

It's not a cowlick 
yuh may have a cowleague (cant spell it) but if yuh were to try and cut it out then it would just grow again and look horrible, sometimes yuh have to just put up weith it or do what i do, try and straighten it down!
