What are ways to remove an old Crank from bottom bracket on my mountain bike?
I have an older mountain bike with shimano LX cranks . Sealed bottom bracket. I like to get a new crankset on it and rings etc.
I have tried to take off my cranks with crank remover but it does not budge at all. when i screw in the puller. I turn it all the way. Used lubed and wd40 on everything. Seems to be seized in there, any other tools or tips that i should use? thanks
Either you are doing something wrong, or you have the wrong type of puller. If your puller was made for ISIS or Octalink spindles, the end that is supposed to push against the end of the spindle will be too large to fit through the square hole in the crankarm. If this is the case, you would have to buy or borrow the correct tool.
