How reliable is the Ford Racing 7.5", 28 Spline Traction Limited Slip Differential?
I was looking at the Ford Racing 7.5" 28 Spline Traction - LOK Limited Slip Differential to put in my 2000 V6 Stang, but i thought i heard somewhere of them breaking easily and not being able to handle a beating (do-nuts, burn outs, drifting =P) If you know anything about these please share.
It's either get this, or get a 8.8 rear assembly off an Explorer or a wrecked Mustang.

The Trac-lok isn't the greatest LSD around, but it's cheap and easy to rebuild. The clutch packs usually wear out around 60k-90k miles depending on how hard you run the car. I would look for a Eaton or a Torsen LSD instead, but unless you're running some sort of forced induction, you car doesn't really produce enough power to warrant an LSD anyway.
